Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published nor is it under consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in this section.
  • Whenever possible, URLs for the references are provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font size; employs italics rather than underlining (except for URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points rather than at the end.

Dossier

All submissions must be sent in the following format: letter-size paper, 3 cm margins, double-spaced, Times New Roman font size 12. They must include: the author's name, professional title and academic degree, affiliation (institution - only the main one - postal address, city, and country), an institutional email address, and ORCID.

The articles must have a minimum of 5000 and a maximum of 8000 words, including bibliography and appendices.

The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word format.

Title

The articles must also include the title in English.

Between 3 to 5 keywords separated by semicolons (;). These keywords must be in both Spanish and English.

Abstract

The articles must contain an abstract in both Spanish and English, each between 150 and 300 words.

Body of Text

Citations and bibliography must follow APA format (seventh edition).

Words in a foreign language must be italicized.

Footnotes should be used to make comments or add additional information, not to indicate bibliographic references; the latter should be included in the body of the text. Their use should be limited to what is essential.

If there are subtitles within the article, they should be identified with Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, 3.1, 3.2).

The submission has not been previously published nor is it under consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

Whenever possible, URLs for the references are provided.

Citations and References

Citations and references must be in APA Seventh Edition format. The use of reference management software is recommended to ensure the required quality.

Showcase

Aimed at Reviews of Academic Publications: Books or Academic Journals Relevant to Occupational Therapy.

Format:

All submissions must be sent in the following format: letter-size paper, 3 cm margins, double-spaced, Times New Roman font size 12. They must include: the author's name, professional title and academic degree, affiliation (institution - only the main one - postal address, city, and country), an institutional email address, and ORCID.

The reviews must have a minimum of 600 and a maximum of 1000 words. They should include the title of the publication, author(s), year, publisher, country, and pages. Plus, a cover photo of the publication (in color).

The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word format.

Citations and references must be in APA Seventh Edition format. The use of reference management software is recommended to ensure the required quality.

Body of Text:

It is recommended that the review text not be a mere summary description of the work, but rather a critical analysis of it, identifying its main objectives, contributions to the scientific field, dialogues with other fields and areas of knowledge, its theoretical-methodological contribution, its documentary sources, among other relevant information.

Priority will be given to submissions that aim for at least one of the following points:

  • Reviews that, in conducting a critical analysis of the work, incorporate a relationship with other similar works.
  • Reviews of texts not in Spanish.
  • Reviews of texts that have appeared recently (last two years as of the publication date of the journal).
